Bull run in tech city

BBMP team takes six hours to locate, tranquilise the beast.

Bangalore: A rogue bull, which created panic among residents in Bhara­tnagar and adjoining areas, was tranquilized early Wednesday by a team of BBMP forest volunteers near Herohalli.

The BBMP department at RR Nagar had received numerous complaints in this regard. The bull had reportedly been creating nuisance by charging at pedestrians and two-wheelers in Bhar­athnagar on Magadi Road.

There were also complai­nts of the bull attacking wo­men and children and some even suffered minor injuries while running away from it.

“Herohalli Corporator A.M.Han­­umanthe Gowda had informed me about the rogue bull moving all over the area wreaking havoc in Bharat­hn­agar. It was charging at pedestrians, women and children and even at moving vehicles,” said Dr Captain Chandrashekhar, Assistant Director, Animal Husbandry, BBMP.

The BBMP team took six hours to locate and tranquilize the bull. It was around seven years old and weighed 300-350 kilograms. The bull was loaded in mini-truck and shifted to Kunigal temple as they were ready to accept it.
