'Kill the rapist' trailer is too violent
Director Sanjay Chhel timed the release of his upcoming film 'Kill The Rapist?' on December 16 to coincide with the anniversary of the brutal December 16 Delhi gang rape, which had horrified the nation.
As the title suggests, this is a violent film about a girl being sexually harassed by a man obsessed by her. The film deals with issues like insensitive cops and the violence that women across the country are subjected to on a daily basis.
But rather than trying to educate the masses on this sensitive subject, the trailer just seems to cash in on a currently popular social topic. One over the top dialogue mouthed by a female cop goes, "Cycle chori aur rape, dono hi bohot common hai.:
The interesting part about the trailer is that it asks the audience whether the rapist should be killed or not in the climax. The director wants the audience to choose.
