RSS pushes for BSY return
Bengaluru: The BJP central central leadership will soon take a final call on the induction of leaders like former Chief Minister B.S.Yeddyurappa who are eager to join the party.
Sources close to central leaders told this newspaper that the party top brass will take a decision on Yeddyurappa’s reinduction by December end or the first week of January.
With the general elections fast approaching, central leaders have to take a decision soon, said the sources. Along with Yeddyurappa, the central leadership is likely to reinduct other potential regional leaders into the party. This is likely to happen in places where the BJP is weak, said sources.
Recently the BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and opposition leader in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley had assured a Yeddyurappa loyalist that the decision on BSY would be taken after the Assembly election results in four states. But the uncertainty prevailing over government formation in Delhi, has further delayed the decision on his reinduction.
Meanwhile, the RSS is keen on reinducting the former CM into the BJP. Senior RSS pracharak M.C Jayadev held a meeting with Yeddyurappa recently and asked him to join the BJP without preconditions, said sources.
The RSS veteran reportedly told Yeddyurappa that if the central leadership invites him, he should return to the party fold without placing conditions.
The RSS has reportedly advised Yeddyurappa to work for a BJP victory in the Lok Sabha polls in Karnataka.
