A new genre of made for web videos and nursery rhymes have made it to the top 10 trending videos of the year in India.

Chennai: Guess what has been hot on YouTube this year? Movies and cricket apart, a new genre of made for web videos and nursery rhymes have made it to the top 10 trending videos of the year in India.

Trilogy trailers of superhero Krrish 3, Dhoom 3 with Aamir Khan and a comedy short film in Telugu titled Viva took the top slots of the trending videos of the year.

Comedy Nights with Kapil, Top 10 best catches in cricket history, MTV Roadies and made for web contents kept the audience glued to the online channel in 2013.

Among the most watched video in India, movie trailer of the Hrithik Roshan-Priyanka Chopra-Kangana Ranaut-starrer Krrish 3 was the top trending video of 2013 recording over 19 million views, said analytics from YouTube.

Among the top music videos of the year were Jeena Laga Hoon from Ramaiya Vastavaiya and Miley Cyrus’s We Can’t Stop video followed by songs from the movie Aashiqui 2. Trailer of the movie X-Men: Days of the Future Past was the most watched Hollywood video followed by the trailer of the movie 21 and over.

Interestingly, short films with a social message such as The Viva and The girl and the autorickshaw, fou-nd favour with YouTube audience this year.

Among the made for web comedy videos which was popular in the channel were Gangs of Social Media and Emotional Atya-charge etc.

Mobile gaming application videos that ruled the charts on portal were the widely played Subway Surfers, Temple run 2, and Angry Birds Rio.
