The bride side of it

Everyone wants to look their impeccable best on their wedding day. But how to go about it?

Marriage is the most celebrated day for every bride and groom. It’s a day when everyone wants to look their impeccable best. How you finally look, comes down to your skin, because it decides the type of makeup you will wear that day. And to look the best on the D-Day, you need to start preparing well in advance.

Ensure you follow the basic routine daily:

  • Determine your skin type: Firstly, you need to figure out whether you have oily skin, dry skin or a combination skin type. Your beauty regime will be based on your skin type.
  • Always wear sunscreen: There exists a common misconception that one should use sunscreens only during exposure to the sun. However, the invisible ultra-violet rays can still affect your skin. So always remember to use a sunscreen while going out.
  • Night vigil: Before you go to sleep follow a good cleansing, toning and moisturising routine. This helps your skin to breathe and revive its lost sheen.

Bridal make up for D-Day:

The bridal make up should be according to the season and time of the year. Ensure that the make up is long-lasting and waterproof. It should be as natural as possible and at the same time not too light. Most importantly, it should go very well with the bride’s attire and personality.

  • First of all clean the skin with cleanser according to the skin type. Apply some moisturiser if skin is dry and toner in case of oily skin. One can use rose water if the skin is normal.
  • Apply concealer on the areas wherever required like under the eyes or on acne marks. On top of this use foundation, a shade lighter than your skin colour. Spread evenly taking care that you cover the neck areas also. It is very important to blend this foundation evenly near the corner of your lips around the nose near the eyes and the hairline.
  • Dust loose powder on top of this and brush it off after a while with a powder brush.
  • Apply eye shadow base on the eyelids. Normally it is golden or silver, which blends nicely according to the work on your bridal dress. Apply a dark colour that matches the dress into the sockets, making a crease line and blending towards the outer corners of the eyes. If you want, you can blend in another colour for a shading effect. These entire colours could be glittery to give that bridal effect.
  • Now highlight under the brow line and on the tip of the eyebrows. Apply waterproof eyeliner and mascara on the lashes. You could dust some powder on the lashes to give that thicker look before putting on mascara. Comb the eyebrows.
  • Apply blush-on with the help of a brush. You can now do the bridal bindi and that should be done keeping the face structure in mind.
  • Lastly apply lipstick. First outline the lips and then fill in with lip brush. You could add a dash of gold or silver to the lips.
