TTD set for New Year rush
Tirupati: The TTD is making arrangements to provide hassle-free darshan facilities to all devotees on New Year and Vaikunta Ekadasi and Dwadasi which falls on January 1 and 11 and 12 in 2014, JEO Srinivasa Raju said.
The TTD is expecting around one lakh devotees on New Year’s day as well as Vaikunta Ekadasi eve. Along with the heavy influx of general public, VIPs and VVIPs are also expected to arrive in large numbers to have darshan of Lord Venkateswara.
On both the occasions. TTD is already being flooded with arrival letters of the VIPs who want to book for darshan and accommodation in advance. TTD JEO said that the temple administration is drawing out plans to carefully coordinate the number of VIP passes to be issued on the important occasions falling in the month of Jan.
The JEO added that the temple administration would ensure a slab and announce the number of VIP passes to be issued during the auspicious days much ahead of the occasions. He appealed to the VIPs for their support in implementing the measures of the TTD to ensure the best of pilgrimage to Tirumala to general devotees as well on the auspicious eve of New Year and Vaikunta Ekadasi.
He added that the best of efforts would be on from the temple administration to ensure a smooth darshan for the Sarva darshan devotees, devotees arriving at the hill through the foot path routes and 300 Rs. Special entry tickets.
The JEO added that the reception wing of the TTD has been instructed to ensure the best of measures to provide hassle-free accommodation to the visiting devotees to Tirumala on Jan 1, 11 & 12. TTD is also planning to maintain a buffer stock of laddus with a very heavy influx of devotees expected to throng the shrine during the festival days.
