Mala: As the 19th CBSE state school youth festival, which concluded at Holy Grace Academy in Mala in Thrissur district on Sunday, it was the host school that won the hearts of all other schools with an exquisite display of hospitality and performance. Not only did they organize a wonderful fest, but also swept the top prizes in the events, thanks to the splendid performances of the179 students who represented Holy Grace.

Holy Grace Academy has to be applauded for the way they arranged the fest although they got only three to four weeks to organize it. It was only a month and half back that the school chairman Raju Davis Perepadan volunteered to host the event, after the school that was supposed to host it withdrew due to a management change.

The chairman gives the credit to the teachers for organising a wonderful event given the short notice. “The best thing about organizing this event was that we did not miss any working days. Teachers and students worked hard overtime to not lose any working days. It was only the day before the fest began that we took a break from academics to give final touches to the plans,” he said.

The school had formed an observers’ committee consisting of teachers from other schools to monitor the events and find discrepancies if there were any. There was also a scrutiny committee consisting of seven teachers from top schools to scrutinise the results.

Holy Grace had finished their campaign at fourth place last term, but the students and teachers were focused on winning as they hosted the event this time, and they did it in style. The school is now looking forward to putting up a strong display in the next fest too and make a mark in the history of CBSE festivals.
