In separate incidents, two persons escaped unhurt when the cars in which they were travelling.

Hyderabad: In separate incidents, two persons escaped unhurt when the cars in which they were travelling,  caught fire on Sunday morning. However, in both cases, the drivers suffered minor injuries.

In the first mishap, Mrinal, 38, a techie from Gachibowli was  going to RGIA from Lingampally to receive his family. As he approached the  Outer Ring Road smoke and fire began emanating from the engine of his WagonR due to a short circuit. 

 

According to the officials in Narsingi police station, he stopped the vehicle and got out to check it when  the vehicle  was engulfed in fire. A fire tender rushed to the spot and put  off the fire. A case was registered.

In another case, Lalith, 24, a student was reportedly driving in an inebriated condition from Begumpet towards Banjara Hills at 7 am when  he lost control over the  car  on the Panjagutta flyover and hit a road divider.

“The engine was damaged in the accident and  fire broke out. However,  passersby alerted us and we, along with the fire tenders, reached the spot, put off the fire and rescued him. He was shifted to a private hospital,” said N. Thirupathi, inspector, Panjagutta police station. No case  has been registered.
