‘Art Attack’ by degree students
Karimnagar: Over 1,200 students of a private degree college were excited taking part in the ‘Art Attack’, a first-of-its-kind platform to display their creative skills, held at Mokharampura, here on Saturday. The students made thought-provoking products using wastage, balloons and vegetables for the event.
Visitors were pleased to see a crocodile made of bitter guards, hand bags with watermelons; greeting cards with sponge, etc which were created by the students.
In addition, the participants were also involved in face painting with messages to create social awareness, on different challenges of the society. “I am excited and happy to participate in the event. I tried to create greeting cards using sponge. One of my friends was impressed with the card when I presented it to her last year,” said G. Swetha, a student B.Sc final year.
Another student, P. Arun Kumar, B. Com final year, said that the programme was innovate and interesting. “I learned how to produce something attractive from wastage in our day-to-day life. I loved the concept,” stated B. Pranavi, who made a sofa set with sugar. The students appeared to be elated over participating in the event.
“We are pioneers to organise such an event, in Karimnagar town,” said B. Parshuram, another student. Explaining the objective, P. Venu, correspondent of the college, said, “That the event was organised for both purposes: to expose the students to creative work, by engaging them in making products and thus to inculcate artistic skills among students.”
There were exhibition of images on optical illusions and paintings by students put up. The chief guests of the programme were TV artistes, Bharadhwaj and Shireesha (Shravana Sameeralu fame). The duo gave away mementos to the students who excelled in the competitions.
