Kochi: First in Oil Painting, first in pencil drawing, first in water colors! One does not need any more introductions to prove that he is a true artist. Same goes with the 14-year-old prodigy Sreehari Ramdas of Sree Sankara Vidyapeetam at Mattannur, in Kannur. He literally swept all the prizes of the Category 4 drawing competitions of the CBSE State School Youth Festival at Mala, in Thrissur.
Sreehari started young at the age of three, according to his father Ramdas, an employee of Excise Department and an avid photographer. "So far, he has won 28 gold medals in different drawing and painting competitions including the ones conducted by the State Forest Department and National Thermal Power Corporation. He also gets a scholarship from the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training," he said.
The boy also got a B grade in cartooning and set to perform in mimicry competition on Sunday. Sreehari is also skilled in clay modeling. Artist Lohithan is his art teacher. Sreehari's elder sister, Sarika Ramdas, is a TV reality show participant and an MBBS student. His mother Deepthi is a teacher.
