Kochi: The public sector Fertilisers And Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT) which is reinventing itself through a slew of measures and packages, has decided to showcase its pristine environs at Ambalamedu and the grand guest house there for tourism purposes.
This has been decided after the top management of the company realised that the idyll lush green campus spread over acres and the nearby grand lake are an ideal getaway from the busy and bustling city and it is high time that potential was tapped as a new source of revenue for the company.
The FACT Chairman cum Managing Director (CMD) Jaiveer Srivastava said that the environs of FACT was the best setting for board meetings of companies with 40 rooms including 3 suites ready to accommodate guests and two conference halls ready to host meetings.. The Ambalamedu House, the sprawling guest house at the location, has now been thrown open also for the public for conducting seminars, workshops etc.
The CMD said that FACT was open to private participation for further developing and promoting the landscape. The lake spread over acres is ideal for boating and the woods are lovely.
The first function after the renovation, a one-day convention on Companies Act 2013, was held the other day, attended by about 100 delegates from various parts of the country.
The programme was arranged by FACT in association with Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, New Delhi. FACT itself is planning to organize several such programmes in order to promote the site.
“Not many know that such an idyllic environ right here beckons them to relax and rejuvenate and it’s time they came here,” said the CMD.
