Coincidences galore!
We all know the success of her last two films have made Priya Anand one of K’town’s most coveted stars — and every hero wants to work with her. But the bubbly actress reveals that her next three films have a couple of quirky coincidences about them.
“Okay, so my upcoming projects are 'Vai Raja Vai' with Gautham Karthik; 'Arima Nambi' with Vikram Prabhu and 'Irumbu Kuthirai' with Adharvaa — all my co-stars are star sons! Furthermore, it’s the fourth film for all of them. Haha, it was kinda funny when I figured this out, but I play such diverse roles in all the three flicks, and I’m super psyched about them. There’s actually one other huge coincidence about my characters in the films — but I want that to be a surprise for the audience,” she reveals.
Arima Nambi has her playing a spunky urban role, while 'Vai Raja Vai' will see her become an innocent girl-next-door, and Priya says that the similarity between all her upcoming characters are that the girls are ambitious, independent and daring.
Does she believe now that she’s entered the film industry’s elite, given the praise she’s garnered for her recent performances? “I’ve never seen it that way... it’s all just happened naturally. In a film like 'English Vinglish', I was ecstatic that audiences had noticed my role while I was sharing screen space with a legend like Sridevi. Similarly, 'Ethir Neechal' was an unexpected hit, while 'Vanakkam Chennai' made people believe that I could carry a movie scene on my own,” Priya finishes, with a smile.
