Bhagyaraj and Jayaram in a political satire?
Malayalam star Jayaram and actor/director/screenplay writer Bhagyaraj are coming together for the first time for a Tamil movie, which is titled 'Thunai Mudhalvar' (Deputy CM). Directed by Vivekanandhan, who has earlier given 'Madhiya Sirai', the film which went on the floors recently, has M’town glam actress Shwetha Menon, known for her controversial movies, playing opposite Bhagyaraj. Meenakshi, who went into long hibernation, is back and is paired opposite Jayaram.
Quiz the director if the story deals with politics since the title is intriguing, pat he says, “There’s no reference to today’s political scenario neither do we take a dig at political personalities. In fact, it is a story written by Bhagyaraj sir. When I approached him with my script, he said that he had a story and asked me to use it instead of mine. The story is based in a village where both Bhagyaraj and Jayaram are bigwigs and good samaritans and when the Chief Minister comes to know of their good deeds, he feels that one of them should be made Deputy Chief Minister so that the entire state would benefit. No particular CM has been referred to here.”
