Hyderabad: Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's crushed Hindustan Aeronautics Limited 5-1 at the ongoing football league championship, organised by the Ranga Reddy Football Association in Hyderabad.
Chemy led the scoring with a brace while Adil, Ahaan and Vineet completed the tally for Bhavan's. For HAL, Satish scored the consolation goal.
Both teams began the match on a defensive note, with only hesitant probes into the opposition's defence marking the first few minutes. Then, against the run of play on 20 minutes, Bhavan's stunned HAL with two quick strikes. First Chemy broke free, and with a blistering run, ended up inside the enemy lines and brilliantly slotted the ball past the goalkeeper's flailing hands. Adil then took advantage of the moment to breach a scattered HAL's defences and double his side's lead with a lovely curve ball into the corner of the net.
On 30 minutes, Ahaan took advantage of a great pass and with a neat touch, coaxed the ball just past the upright into the goal to make the score 3-0.
Four minutes later, Chemy scored his second goal to virtually put the match out of HAL's reach and all doubt evaporated when, just before half-time, Vineet made it 5-0. Three minutes after resumption, Satish scored for HAL, but it was too late.
In another match, Raji Naidu scored as Andhra Pradesh Sports School defeated Alwal Football Club 1-0.
