Telangana draft Bill copies given to Chief Secretary PK Mohanty

Hyderabad:?On Thursday evening, the Union home ministry sent its special emissary E. Suresh Kumar to the state in a special BSF flight from Delhi.

Kumar met the Chief Secretary, P.K. Mohanty, and handed over 390 copies of the draft Telangana Bill wrapped in eight bundles.

Kumar, a joint secretary official in the Union home ministry, has been associated with the process of the state’s bifurcation.

After landing at the Begumpet Airport, Kumar went straight to the Secretariat and met the Chief Secretary. He also gave him the copy of the communication from the President, giving six weeks’ time to the AP Legislature to express its views on the Bill.

Immediately after meeting the chief secretary, Kumar met Legislature Secretary, Raja Sadaaram, and then met Governor, Narasimhan, at the Raj Bhavan and Chief Minister, N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, before returning to New Delhi.

“Yes I came to meet the chief secretary to hand over the Bill copies. That is all I can say,” Kumar told newsmen at the Secretariat.
