Star couple Suriya and Jyothika made a whirlwind tour of Hyderabad, the first time together as a married couple, on Wednesday evening.
The couple was here for a few hours to bless actor Brahmaji’s son who got married a few days ago. They spent an hour with the actor’s family and left for Chennai immediately.
While Suriya is a regular in Hyderabad thanks to his film shoots and promotions. Jyothika’s last visit to Hyderabad was five years ago.
There’s an interesting anecdote about Suriya and Jyothika’s friendship with Brahmaji.
The Telugu blockbuster 'Bhadra', starring Ravi Teja and Meera Jasmine, was remade in Tamil with Jyothika and Simbhu as the lead pair. Brahmaji, who played a key character in the Telugu version, acted in the Tamil remake too.
During the shoot, Brahmaji and Jyothika became friends and Suriya, who was courting Jyothika then, also became fast friends with Brahmaji.
After that, Jyothika acted in the Telugu film 'Shock' and had to come to Hyderabad often. Suriya too would tag along and Brahmaji would host them. Brahmaji also attended the couple’s wedding reception.
However, in the last five years, while Brahmaji had met Suriya a couple of times, he had not met Jyothika.
When asked about her visit to the city after a long gap, Jyothika says that she came to Hyderabad especially for the function, leaving her kids back in Chennai.
Suriya, who was busy shooting in Mumbai, flew to Chennai to pick up Jyothika and the two came to Hyderabad for a few hours. Writer Kona Venkat and Sunil Varma accompanied the couple during their short stay.
