Split aims to trouble YSR Congress
SKU JAC demands Anantapur MP to support no-confidence motion.
Anantapur/kadapa/kurnool: Demanding to rollback approval of the draft Telangana bill, the agitation intensified at many parts of the region, on Wednesday.
The YSR Congress had organised a massive protest, with the tractor rally at Kadapa district headquarters, demanding the Centre to withdraw unilateral decision to split the State.
The tractor rally was taken out from the YSR Congress office towards the collectorate. Speaking on the occasion, the YSR Congress district convener, K. Suresh Babu and Kadapa Assembly in- charge, Amjad Basha, accused the Congress- led United Progressive Alliance Government of splitting the State for political mileage and also creating trouble in YSR Congress, in all parts of the state.
Recalling adverse impact on Rayalaseema people, with the state division, the leaders lamented that the students from backward region would have no alternative education sources, other than Hyderabad.
Thousands of students from Seema will have no quality education after the state’s division, they said and added that the irrigation sources were also not clearly shared by the region.
The YSR Congress party activists blockaded the National Highway road, at Khajipet, in the district, protesting against the State division even after majority of the people demanded the state to remain undivided.
The activists demanded the Centre to reverse the decision. Protests were witnessed at many parts of the district. Anantapur district YSR Congress convener, M. Shankar Narayana announced that Samaikya Sankaravam on December 16, at Madakasira, is to mount pressure on the Centre.
The SKU JAC reiterated, demanding Anantapur MP to support the no-confidence motion. However, minor irrigation minister, T.G. Venkatesh, had extended support to MPs for moving the no-confidence motion against their own Government following seriousness in the region.
He also ruled out possibilities of winning the draft Telangana bill in the state Assembly though party in-charge made efforts to convince the Congress MLAs.
