Kochouseph Chittilappally backs AAP, but not joining politics
Kochi: Prominent businessman Kochouseph Chittilappally has announced that he will support the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
According to him, the AAP has a vision to eradicate corruption and reduce the gap between haves and have-nots. However, he has asserted that politics is not his cup of tea and that he has no plans to enter politics.
“The Delhi elections results have shown that the present political parties are corrupt except a very few and that people can act against the corrupt leaders and opt for lesser known candidates,” Chittilappally told Deccan Chronicle.
“In India, the opposition parties also are equally corrupt. Many times there are unholy alliances between the ruling and opposition parties. If we have a corruption- free opposition, half the job is done,” he added. The change witnessed in Delhi will also motivate youngsters to cast their votes usefully rather than blaming politics, he added.
When asked whether the AAP leaders can withstand the temptations of power, he said that as a new and ethical party, the AAP must not fall into political traps.
“We have to congratulate AAP for its victory and let us hope that after a few years, it will not be immersed in corruption, which is the usual practice in India,” he said.
He also urged that leaders must take a broom to cleanse their own parties.
In a post on Facebook, Chittilappally said that many Facebook followers were asking whether he will enter politics but said he has no plans to do so.
