Hyderabad: H.K. Simha slammed a century as Hyderabad scored 352 against Karnataka at the Vijay Merchant Trophy cricket tour nament. In reply, Karnataka were 90 for 3 at stumps.

At Cooch Behar Trophy, Tanmay Agarwal (106), B. Anirudh (136) and P.S. Chaitanya Reddy (181) hit tons as Hyderabad milked Jammu & Kashmir bowlers to score 562 for 6, in reply to J&K's 322.

Shabbir rules day at tenpin bowling

Bangalore: Former national champion Shabbir Dhankot of Tamil Nadu got off to a rollicking start at the 25th National Tenpin Bowling Championship at the Blu O here on Tuesday.
Shabbir finished the day with a total pinfall of 1347 at an impressive average of 224.50.

His tally was at the end of the first block of six games in round 1, played on Long Oil condition. Shabbir started with 202 in the first game and followed it up with high scores of 275, 246, 225 in Games 2, 3 and 4 respectively. He scored a poor 146 in Game 5 but recovered well to end the day with another high score of 253 in Game 6.

Defending champion Dhruv Sarda of Delhi was placed sec ond with a total pinfall of 1231 and average of 205.17. Local hope Huned Khokhar was one spot behind with a total pinfall of 1185 and average of 197.5.

Kolkata: The stewards of Mysore Race Club have decided to cancel the Mysore winter races scheduled to be held on Wednesday (December 11) in view of the death of its patron Srikantadutta Wadiyar. Wadiyar, scion of the erstwhile Mysore royal family, died following massive cardiac arrest at a private hospital here Tuesday.
