Kiran to lead parties to PM on Krishna

The all-party meet on Brajesh Kumar tribunal award on Krishna waters convened.

Hyderabad: The all-party meet on Brajesh Kumar tribunal award on Krishna waters convened by Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday decided to step up pressure on Centre to relook into the award as it was detrimental to state’s interests.

Differing with other parties, the TRS, however, did not want any measures against tribunal award at this stage as state will be bifurcated any moment.

“We will fight for our waters once Telangana is formed,” former MP B. Vinod Kumar told the meeting. Another pro-T party CPI did not agree with the TRS and party state secretary K. Naraya-na suggested that all parties should first fight for due share to the existing state. “Let us all fight for full share and later we can amicably distribute between two states,” he said.

After a four hour long meeting, the Chief Minister agreed with the suggestion of majority parties to lead an all-party delegation to the Centre.

The Chief Minister continued his tirade for united state when he said the state would be able to build Polavaram which will help even Telangana region only when it remained united. “The Centre’s promise to build Polavaram will never materialise. It will be sufficient if they release adequate funds,” he said.
