Guptha finds no fault in JC remark
Anantapur: Extending support for the Congress senior leader J.C. Diwakar Reddy for his outburst on Congress high command, Anantapur District Congress Committee president and Guntakal MLA K. Madhusudhan Guptha made it clear that there was nothing wrong in the comments made by Diwakar Reddy over the party position in the state following the unilateral decision on division of the state.
Referring to the statement made by Diwakar Reddy, he said that the statement was revealing ground facts and he has not violated the party discipline.
The MLA observed that Diwakar Reddy had tried to elicit views of the public and also expressed views in a right manner alerting party high command.
Speaking to this reporter Guptha lamented that opinions were being misled instead of accepting facts and figures pertaining to party position that was revealed by senior Congress leader.
“I could not find any offensive words spelt by senior leader Diwakar Reddy and those words would be acceptable to change the path into right way and to strengthen party,” the DCC president stated.
Recalling over serious drought situation in the Rayalaseema region and particularly Anantapur district was not considered during state division process, Madhusud-han Guptha said that District Congress Commi-ttee had begged the people to pay compensation for the families of farmers who committed suicide.
“The party president Sonia Gandhi had distributed cheques to the kin of farmers when she was in opposition,” he pointed out.
Sonia had recognised drastic situation in Anantapur district, but split throat for the sake of political benefit. “How could we support the move when they tried to split the throat for political mileage in the name state division,” he said.
