Oommen Chandy protects frauds, says Vaikom Viswan
Thiruvananthapuram: LDF convenor Vaikom Viswan on Tuesday alleged that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, instead of protecting the life and property of citizens, has turned the guardian of fraudsters in the state.
Viswan was inaugurating the second day of the 140-day siege of the Chief Minister’s official residence, Cliff House, here. He asked Chandy to resign immediately
and face a probe.
“People like Biju Radhakrishnan, Saritha S. Nair and Shalu Menon cheated people using the Chief Minister’s office. But for the Chief Minister, it’s not a big deal as the fraud, according to him, involved an insignificant amount,’’ he added.
Earlier, LDF activists assembled near the Raj Bhavan and marched to the Cliff House. However, they squatted on the road after being intercepted by the police near Devaswom Board junction.
The police arrested the activists, who came from Kazhakoottam Assembly constituency, and took them to Nandavanam police camp. They were released later.
