Teenaged girl gang raped, dumped at parking lot in Delhi

New Delhi: A teenaged girl was gang raped allegedly by three to four unidentified men and then dumped at a parking lot in Connaught Place here, police said on Wedneday.

The minor victim was found in a dishevelled condition in the N Block parking on Sunday morning. She was taken to RML Hospital where her medical examination confirmed rape.

According to the police, the victim told them that she is a resident of Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh. She ran away from her home following some family problems and boarded a train to Delhi.

In her statement, the girl said she was abducted by three to four men from near the railway station who then took her behind Scindia House and took turns to rape her, police said. The accused then dumped her in the parking lot and fled away.

A case of rape has been registered at Barakhamba Road Police Station and investigations are on. Police is checking the CCTV footage of the area to identify the culprits. So far, nobody has been arrested in the case.

"The victim is mentally disturbed. We are trying to get more information from her," said a police official.

Hyderabad: A teenager was allegedly raped by a youth on the pretext of marriage in Hayathnagar on city outskirts, police said on Wednesday.

The accused Prashant, a degree student, allegedly developed physical relationship with the 16-year-old girl over the past five months after promising that he would marry her. However, he started avoiding her recently, they said based on a complaint lodged by the victim.

Man murders kids to take revenge on wife in AP

Podili: In a weird incident a man has allegedly killed his two children to take revenge on his wife at Kammalapadu village in Podili mandal on Monday.

According to police, the accused Anikepalli Koti Reddy had married Sujatha of Kottapalle 10 years back and they have two sons Ramanjaneya Reddy, 7, and Tirupati Reddy, 6, from the marriage.

The couple is at loggerheads due to various reasons and the attitude of Koti Reddy led Sujatha to leave to her parents home three-four times in the recent past.

However, Koti Reddy had been convincing her to return every time after she leaves home although he was seething with anger for not caring him.

In this backdrop, he managed to bring her back to home few days back after she left to her parents house following a tussle with him about 10 days back. In this backdrop, Koti Reddy took his two children for a ride on Monday and allegedly pushed them into an farm well near the village.

Sujatha approached police when Koti Reddy and children did not return home even on Monday. The death of the kids came to light when their bodies surfaced in the well on Tuesday.

Darsi DSP Lakshmi Narayana, Podili CI Venkateswar Rao and SI Kamalakar have rushed to the spot and elicited information on the incident from the locals. They have registered a case and investigating.

Hyderabad: A man allegedly killed his wife after a quarrel in a drunken state at Bowenpally on Tuesday. The victim, B. Nagamani, 32, was found dead in her residence near the police station.

Police said her husband Ashok, 37, allegedly strangulated her before fleeing. “Neighbours checked the house as the two-and-a-half-year-old kid was crying continuously. On seeing Nagamani dead, they informed the police,” Bowenpally police said.

Police said the accused Ashok and his wife consumed alcohol at night and quarrelled over property. “We suspect he strangulated her and killed her,” said B. Srinivas, sub-inspector of police, Bowenpally.

The victim’s relatives said that Ashok had married another woman 10 years ago, and had three kids. He married Nagamani four years ago. and started living with her near Bowenpally police station.

Cops booked a case for murder and started a manhunt for the accused.

Burdwan (WB): A sadhu was shot dead inside his ashram by a group of men Channa village under Galsi police station of Burdwan district, the police said on Wednesday.

The 65-year-old sadhu, who did not utter a word for over a decade and known as 'mouni baba', was shot at in his room last night and he died on the spot.

Originally named Kripasindhu Chattopadhyay, the sage was living in the ashram for about 35 years.

Ashram inmates suspected that thieves had entered the room Tuesday night and they killed him as he identified them. However, it was yet to be ascertained whether anything was stolen from the room.

DSP (crime) Kaji Samsuddin Ahmed who visited the ashram said the reason for the murder was not yet known and investigation was on.

Bangalore: In another case of an extra-marital affair with a gory end, a 27-year-old man was allegedly murdered by his paramour’s husband in Parap­p­ana Agrahara police limits on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Satish, a garment factory employee. Satish, a native of Tiruchi, had been staying in Hebbagodi for over a year.

He befriended a woman named Rukmini two years ago and they began having a physical relationship.

The victim would reportedly visit often Rukmini at her house in Maralvadi, Kanakapura. A year ago, Rukmini became acquainted with Chamraj, who worked as an interior design marketer.

The couple got married a fortnight ago and shifted to a house in Channa Kesava Nagar near Hosur Road.

Chamraj is said to have noticed Satish visiting the house frequently, but was told by Rukmini that he was her brother.

Meanwhile, Satish also married a girl named Srimathi in Tiruchi 4 months ago and brought her to live with him in Hebbagodi.

However, Satish and Rukmini allegedly continued their affair. Around 10 am on Tuesday, when Chamraj and his parents had left the house, Satish allegedly stopped by. However, Chamraj reportedly returned a few minutes later. Satish, who was hiding inside the bedroom, allegedly came out only after Rukmini told her husband that Satish was in the house.

Satish then allegedly assaulted both Chamraj and Rukmini, even slashing the latter’s neck with a knife.

Chamraj reportedly pushed Satish, whose head hit the edge of a table; causing him to die on the spot. Hearing the noise, neighbours informed the police and took the two to a nearby hospital. Rukmini’s condition is serious.

Satish’s body was taken to Victoria Hospital for the post-mortem, where the exact cause of his death will be ascertained.

Shimoga: A 32-year-old police constable was allegedly killed by his wife’s relative at her house at Bommanakatte, Shimoga on Monday.

According to police, the deceased has been identified as Nagaraj, who was posted at the Vidyanagar police station in Davangere.

He had married Ranjitha six years ago, but was unhappy with the dowry and had quarreled with his wife’s relatives on several occasions.

Dejected over his conduct, she had deserted him a year ago and was staying in Shimoga.

Nagraj had come from Davangere to his wife’s house in Shimoga on Monday and demanded dowry again.

Irked by this, Mallesh, a relative of Ranjitha, allegedly assaulted him.

Later, he threw a boulder on Nagraj, who succumbed on the spot. Soon after, Mallesh and his family members fled.

Super­intendent of Police Kaushalen­dra Kumar visited the house. Vinobnagar police have registered a complaint and are on the lookout for Mallesh.

Chennai: A software engineer with a private IT firm in Mahindra City committed suicide by hanging self at his residence in kanchipuram on Monday.

Dinesh Krishnamoorthy, who was married only three months ago was found hanging at his home around 4 30 PM on Monday, police said.

Police recovered a five-page suicide note from the scene where he had said that an unhappy married life to be the reason behind the fatal step.

Kanchipuram Taluk police have registered a case and are investigating further.

Kollam: The police here arrested a man for circulating the nude pictures of a woman who had gone missing a few weeks back.

Another man wanted in connection with the incident is linked to the Kundara brothel case, police said.

The arrested is Navas elias Shanavas, 36, of Anayadi Vadakkathil, Venga. Police have intensified the search for Shaji, 36, of Kunnil Veedu, Venga, along with the woman involved in the incident.

The woman went missing on Nov. 7 and later her nude video clippings were spread through the mobile phones in the area.

Police suspected Navas to be behind it and arrested him. The police registered cases according to IT Act for spreading illicit content and on charges of kidnapping.

North division cops crack three murder cases

Bangalore: The north division poli­ce have cracked three murd­er cases including a two-year-old case, where a home-alone woman was murdered in Vijayan­a­gar.

Malles­waram poli­ce have solved the murder of Manjula, who was found dead in her Vijaya­na­gar home on Decem­ber 6, 2011. Two people have been arrested in connection with this case.

Prashanth, who was arrested in connection with a robbery, revealed that Bhaskar and Asin were his associates. When the two were picked up for questioning, they confessed to murdering Manjula.

“The duo revealed to having had illicit relations with Manjula. On December 6, they went to her house and consumed alcohol there. Mean­while, she reportedly took the cash and jewels the duo had. When they asked her to return it, she refused, so they slit assaulted her with a rod and slit her throat, police said.

Vijayanagar police had registered a case. and interviewed a number of people, but found no clues.

The deceased, who had separated from her husband, lived with her two children, who were on the terrace when she was murdered.

Sanjay­nagar police have arrested four people in connection with another murder case.

The accused are Yoge­sh alias Bande, 23, Sure­sh, 23, Harish, 21, and Manu, 20, all auto drivers living in Hebbal. They have been accused of murdering Kamal Shafi, 20, a water tanker driver on October 6.

Police said the four of them were near a rail­way track near Basaveshwara Lay­out, where the victim lived. Shafi and his friend, Azam Pasha, who was dressed as a woman, tried to lure the group of men.

“The accused, Suresh approached Pasha, but the duo attempted to rob him at knifepoint. Suresh’s friends rushed to his aid, snatched Shafi’s knife and stabbed him to death,” police said.

“We got information that the accused were talking about the murder in a bar. When they were picked up and interrogated, they confessed to the murder,” police added.

Sanjaynagar police have also arrested three men who allegedly murdered a pigmy collector, who has been missing since December 4.

The accused, Muthuraj, 32, of Maddur, Senthil, 23, and Narayan, 47, live in Chamrajpet. The other accused, Shivanna, owner of Shiva Wines Store in Chamrajpet, is absconding and police are on the lookout for him. They stand accused of murdering Venkatesh, a resident of T. Dasarahalli.

According to police, Venkatesh, a pigmy collector, had lent Rs 10 lakh to Shivanna a few months ago. When Venkatesh began to pester Shivanna for his money, the latter hatched a murder plot with three others.

“Shivanna told Venkatesh to come near the wine store and collect the money on December 4. When he arrived, they locked him in store and beat him to death with an iron rod. They dumped the body on Hindupur Road, after partially burning it, police said.

“Venkatesh’s family filed a missing person’s complaint Since Shivanna was the last person he spoke to, the case was cracked,” police added.
