Ambrosia in namma ooru
She was working as an IT professional with Dell in Hyderabad before an opportunity on the silver screen knocked on her doors. From an orthodox Christian family, Anisha Ambrose, had never dreamt of entering films as her family is more involved in running educational institutions in Orrisa. Like many successful woman, this gorgeous girl too joined an IT company with an MBA.
She instantly captured attention in Tollywood when she made her debut in 'Alias Janaki', with her gracious looks and acting skills. She is hardly a year-old in her new career, and is already busy with a handful of film projects. She is making her Sandalwood debut acting alongside Ajay Rao in a unique project - 'A Second Hand Lover'.
“Acting was never the first option for me, it was an accident actually. When I got my first offer in Telugu, I was worried about how my family would accept it. Luckily, my father said yes, and since then my family has been very supportive," says Anisha.
When asked about whether her family, (who, was initially a bit wary about her film career), interferes when it comes to choosing films, Anisha says, “I discuss my projects with my parents, who give their opinion. As I come from an orthodox Christian family, I have certain restrictions when it comes to choosing films. I read the scripts and accept characters only if it makes sense and the portrayal is also insightful. Alongwith stardom comes a sense of responsibility. I like to do films which portray me in a responsible manner, and not just in glamourous and cheap roles. I accepted a Kannada film, as it has substance with a unique character," she adds.
Anisha feels that as far as acting is concerned, the only connection I have is that of my maternal grandfather, who was into theatre. “Other than that, I have not done any acting nor have I taken any acting lessons. I put in my best for every role, and try to do justice as per the directors and my co-stars. I know, I am not here to achieve very big things as an actor, but as long as I am an actress, my only effort is to do responsible roles," she adds.
About the Kannada film, she says, that though it is about the life of a rock star and his love life, it is nothing similar to Hindi film 'Rockstar' starring Ranbir Kapoor. “As the title suggests, it is about the acceptance of 'second hand love.' Whether I am the second hand lover or whether it is the hero, is the surprise element," she says.
Barring few items she purchased during college days, she has not really bought anything second hand, she says about second hand featuring in her life. After her Telugu debut 'Alias Janaki', Anisha has acted in a short Telugu film, and in 'Arreyrey', another Telugu film which is in its pre-production stage.
The shooting of 'A Second Hand Lover', is under progress. His latest release 'Advaitha' has flopped big time at the box office and he hopes to bounce back with a hit! And so does Anisha.
