Kamal: Non-IFFK commercial movies being promoted

Director Kamal attacked authorities for promoting commercial movies that are not part of IFFK

A day after director Lenin Rajendran flayed the newlyformed Film Marketing Division of Kerala Chalachitra Academy, director Kamal attacked authorities for promoting commercial movies that are not part of IFFK.

“It’s not a right thing to do. This platform is exclusively for movies that are part of the festival. Holding special screenings of such movies is unacceptable,” said Kamal.

“Marketing movies globally is a good idea but it should not be funded by Chalachitra Academy. Unfortunately, this idea has been a complete failure here as the organizers have failed to ensure a platform to promote movies internationally,” says Kamal. He backed the idea of Film Marketing Division.

“Film marketing is a part of many prestigious festivals and they charge aspiring talents for pitching their ideas,” says Kamal. “IFFK lacks good movies. Especially, the competition section lacks quality films,” says Kamal. Controversies and differences are part of IFFK, Kamal says.
