‘No preconditions for return to BJP’

Former chief minister B.S.Yeddyurappa said on Monday that he has not set any preconditions.

Bangalore: Former chief minister B.S.Yeddyurappa said on Monday that he has not set any preconditions for the merger of his year-old party with the BJP.

Addressing party workers at the executive of Karnataka Janata Party (KJP) here, he said "I have not talked to any of the central leaders of BJP after I left that party a year ago. There is no need for me to set any conditions.

But a few leaders of the state unit of BJP are spreading rumours about me. Keeping in mind the interests of the state and the country, I will take an appropriate decision after consulting other leaders."

Yeddyurappa was all praise for leaders of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and asked his colleagues to emulate them. "The success of Aam Aadmi Party in New Delhi Assembly elections should be a model for us to fight back. Arvind Kejriwal has proved that 'struggle' can give results, but in Aam Aadmi party's case success came before one year of formation of that party.

We should take a cue from AAP to fight against the establishment. Even after winning the Delhi elections, Kejriwal did not show interest in forming the government, nor did the Congress hint at offering him support," he added.

Speaking to media persons, the former CM said he had not received any communication from central leaders of BJP regarding his return to that party.

“I can take a decision only after central leaders approach me. I don't know about their perception on my return to BJP. I have decided to build the party by touring districts after December 20", Yeddyurappa added.
