Tulasi hopeful of revision on Telangana by Congress chief
Rajahmundry: The discussion of T Bill in AP Assembly and the resolution by the House after thorough discussion will have its own significance on T issue. In addition to this, the Congress may withhold the T process in the wake of severe drubbing received in the poll results announced on Sunday.
The AP 20-Point Programme chairperson, APCC official spokesperson and East Godavari Congress party incharge, Dr N. Tulasi Reddy, made these observations on Monday.
Expressing his opinion on the latest political developments, after the poll results to the four states, Dr Reddy is hopeful of revision on T-issue by Congress leadership as both Sonia Gandhi and Rahul decided to give serious thought to the lapses noticed on their part and introspect on issues relating to party affairs and functioning.
The APCC official spokesperson strongly supported the views of state Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy who almost raised a banner of revolt against the party leadership.
Elaborating his views on T Bill, when it comes for discussion in AP Assembly, he said except the Punjab-Haryana division issue, the rest of the 14 state-bifurcations so far were carried out as per the Assembly resolutions. The division of Haryana was carried out during the President’s rule, he said.
Elaborating his views on T Bill and reference to the Assembly he felt that the discussion in the House and resolution would definitely hold key in taking a final decision on the issue.
“If the decision of the Assembly will not have any significance and bearing in taking a decision by the Parliament and President then what is the need to send the same to state Assembly,” Dr Reddy pointed out.
Commenting on the stupendous success of AAP, within few months of its formation in New Delhi polls, he felt that the exposure to public through media in different forms and the party's leadership to grab the opportunities that have come their way made the impact and the ultimate sufferer is Congress.
Dr Reddy who was to visit East Godavari on Monday cancelled his trip at the last moment due to pre occupations and spoke to this correspondent on these issues over phone from Hyderabad.
