Hyderabad: Former minister and Secunderabad Cantonment MLA P. Shankar Rao on Monday performed the ‘bhoomi puja’ to construct a temple for Congress president Sonia Gandhi for announcing separate state of Telangana.
The puja was performed in his farmhouse near Nandigama village in Mahbubnagar, on the occasion of Gandhi’s birthday on Monday.
“Gandhi is the Goddess for Telangana people. I have decided to construct the temple for her to express my gratitude,” Dr Rao said.
