Jaya rewards policemen
Jaya on Monday presented cash rewards of Rs30,000 each to the 22 police personnel.

Chennai: Chief minister J. Jayalalithaa on Monday presented cash rewards of Rs30,000 each to the 22 police personnel who were in the Tamil Nadu police team that won the silver medal and cup as the runner-up in the 62nd B.N. Mullik Memorial All-India Police football tournament which was held at Hyderabad last month.
Warmly complimenting the team for being the first from TN to bring such laurels for the state, the chief minister exhorted them to score greater achievements in the coming days.
The chief minister also inaugurated, through video conferencing from the secretariat here, two hostels for men and women built at a cost of Rs 9.81 crore at the Sriperumbudur SIPCOT industrial park in Kancheepuram district. These hostels would greatly benefit the workers employed in the huge industrial zone of Sriperumbudur that has five SIPCOT industrial parks.
In another video conferencing inaugural, the chief minister inaugurated a hostel built at a cost of Rs 66.78 lakh for students belonging to backward, most backward and minorities. The hostels will fulfill the dire need for accommodation for these students.
