Cabinet reshuffle in Tamil Nadu

Chennai: Chief minister J. Jaya­lalithaa on Mon­day dropped youth welfare minister P. V. Ramalingam and re-inducted in his place a former minister, Udaya Kumar.

Udaya Kumar will be sworn in as minister for youth welfare and sports development department by Governor K. Rosaiah on Wednesday, a Raj Bhavan release said here.

The chief minister also reshuffled the portfolios of B. V. Ramana, M. C. Sampath and Thoppu N. D. Venkatachalam.

While Ramana has been designated minister for revenue, the portfolio of commercial taxes and registration that he held has been allocated to Sampath.
