Akshath & Co. battle to make it even-stevens
Hyderabad: Hyderabad have a fight in their hands to avoid conceding the first innings lead as Tripura scored a massive 650 for eight declared in their Group 'C' Ranji Trophy match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium here on Sunday .
At the end of Day Three, Hyderabad reached 258 for one with skipper Akshath Reddy batting at 138. The hosts now have nine wickets and a whole day to avoid handing Tripura the advantage.
Earlier, resuming on 588 for six, overnight centurion S. Abbas Ali, who started the day on 105, extended his score to unbeaten 132 off 222 balls before the visitors declared their innings.
The other overnight batsman Rana Dutta (11) added 10 runs before Tushar Saha (20) chipped in with some important runs.
In reply, Hyderabad lost opener Tirumalasetti Suman (21) early but Akshath scored an unbeaten century, while D.B. Ravi Teja completed his halfcentury to ensure there was no further damage.
