Major fire at Jeedimetla factory, no casualties
Hyderabad: Seven fire tenders and another one equipped with a snorkel were deployed to fight a massive fire at the Bharat Flexo Graphic Printing Inks at Jeedimetla on Sunday. It took the fire brigade four hours to douse the blaze. The fire also spread to an adjoining factory manufacturing cardboard boxes.
Fire tenders from Jeedimetla, Sanathnagar, Kukatpally, Moula Ali, Secunderabad stations were rushed to the spot after the alert was sounded at 12.30 pm.

“Panic erupted and people ran out of the place. There-fore there were no casualties,” said regional fire officer G.V. Narayana.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. “It could be either a chemical reaction, a cylinder blast or even a careless smoker throwing the lighted butt of the cigarette on inflammabble material,” said Y. Prabhakar Reddy, assistant district fire officer. The MD of Bharat Flexo Graphic is absconding.
