20-year-old abducted, gang raped in UP
Sambhal: A 20-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and gang raped by three men in Hayatnagar area, a senior officer said here on Monday.
The victim was abducted by three youths on December 1 night and raped for next four to five days, Circle Officer Jagveer Singh Attri said, adding that the victim some how managed to escape.
An FIR has been registered against accused Aslam, Alam and Gulrez on a complaint by the victim's father, he said, adding that the accused are absconding.

Chennai: The police arrested a 25-year-old woman on Sunday on charges of murdering her husband over his extramarital affair at Pulianthope.
Bharath, 28, a loadman, was married to Bhavani, 25, and the couple have two daughters, police said. Bharath is said to have had an extramarital relationship with a woman from the same locality for more than five years and he and his wife used to fight over it, the police added.
During an argument on Saturday, Bharath beat his wife. Later that night, Bhavani doused her husband with kerosene and burnt him.
Chittoor: An incident of a 23-year-old housewife murdered by her husband came to light on Sunday.
According to Narayanavanam CI Rajasekhar, Subrahmanyam, 32, married to Geetha, 23 and they both stay at Govindappa Naidu Kandriga, a Dalitwada of Narayanavanam mandal and work as farm labourers.
The couple, who had three children, is used to enter into altercations frequently.
Last Monday, the couple who were engaged for work at a local farm belonging to one Raghunadha Naidu again entered into a heated argument even as everyone was watching.
Since then Geetha went missing while her husband Subrahmanyam told the relatives and the neighbours that she fled home after a tiff between them.
However, after the news reached Raghunadha Naidu, who raised doubts over Subrahmanyam borrowing a farm equipment used for covering a pit.
The relatives reached the site of Raghunadha Naidu and noticed foul smell emanating from a spot near the site. They dug the pit were shocked to see Geetha’s body.
Local police were informed about the incident, who reached the spot and shifted Geetha’s body for post-mortem. Efforts to arrest Subrahmanyam went in vain as had fled the village by then.
Narayanavanam police have registered a case and are continuing their search for Subrahmanyam. According to the locals, Subrahmanyam was enraged over infidelity of his wife which led to the murder.

Hyderabad: A 23-year-old youth committed suicide at his house in Ashoknagar, late on Saturday night.
The victim, T. Anjaneyulu, son of T. Ramulu was employed as a waiter in a hotel and was a resident of New Ashok Nagar in Parsigutta.
According to the Chilkalguda cops, Anjaneyulu was suspected to have financial problems. Depressed, he committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling while the others were fast asleep.
A case was registered under Section 174 and is being investigated. The body was handed over to the victim’s family after postmortem on Sunday.

Bangalore: The Peenya police have arrested an employee of Indian Air Force in connection with a death due to dowry harassment caÂse. The accused has been identified as Pankaj Kumar, 32, a native of Bihar. He was a Surveillance Officer in the IAF.
Kumar was married to Thammi Kumari, 28, in 2004 and the couple has 2 kids. They were resiÂdÂiÂng at the Air Force staff quarters near HesaraghaÂtta.
On December 4, Thammi Kumari committed suicide by hanging and a case of unnatural death was registered.
“On December 6, her elder brother Rakesh filed a case alleging that Pankaj and his parents were harassing Thammi for dowry and this led to her suicide.
He also accused Pankaj of watching porn at home. Before she ended her life, they had quarreled over the matter and Pankaj had slapped her.
Based on his complaint, Pankaj was arrested and further investigations are on.

Bangalore: The body of a 25-year-old man was found early Sunday with his head crusÂhed under the wheels of a train as he had laid down on the tracks near LotteÂgallahalli bridge in YeshÂwanthpur railway police limits, to commit suicide.
The man has been identified as Manikanta, from Anekal. He has been residing in Bengaluru for the past 5 years.
Police said he lived in a shed in Abbigere near Peenya and used to assist people directing low-budget short films.
An orphan, Manikanta was reportedly unmarried and his closest relatives are said to be in Anekal.
A few days ago, he allegedly sent a text message to his landlord, Ramu, saying he had been unable to pay rent for the past 2 months owing to a shoulder injury sustained in an accident.
He also reportedly said he did not feel like “showing his face” to Ramu, but promised to come up with the money soon.
However, the police suspect Manikanta decided to kill himself and lay down on the tracks in YeshwanÂthÂpur near Lottegallahalli bridge on Saturday night.
His body was found early on Sunday morning by passers-by, who inforÂmed the railway police.
The police managed to establish Manikanta’s identity by dialling a few numbers on his cellphone. No death note was found at the spot or in his house, they said.
“It appears Manikanta was a sensitive soul. We found a journal of sorts in his room, in which he had penned his dreams of becoming a movie star.
He had not written a suicide note or even written about any problems he was facing, however, leading us to believe that financial difficulties caused him to take his own life,” the police explained.
Manikanta’s body was sent to M S Ramaiah hospital for the post-mortem, following which it was to be handed over to his relatives in Anekal.
A case has been registered by the YeshÂwanthpur railway police, who are looking into the matter.

Chennai: Vadapalani police on Sunday arrested a garment businessman who had reportedly assaulted Madhu Balakrishnan, a playback singer in Malayalam cinema over a brawl in a hotel bar on Saturday.
Siva, 45 of Choolaimedu was arrested on the charges of assaulting the singer at a bar in Vadapalani and had gone into hiding after the incident.
Investigations revealed that the argument was over a property dispute between the two men.
The singer had reportedly rented his flat in Saligramam to Siva, whose wife was an acquaintance of Balakrishnan.
