She’s a village belle no more!
After a slow, yet promising, start to her career, 2013 was a landmark year for the pretty Bindu Madhavi who was the toast of tinsel town with successive hits in 'Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga' and 'Desingu Raja'. However, the actress kept wishing she could shake off her village belle image and play an urban character that was closer to her real-life image. Now her prayers have been answered!
Bindu dons the role of a tomboyish, modern-day girl in her upcoming film, 'Oru Kanniyum Moonu Kalavaanikalum', in which she’s paired opposite Arulnithi. Understandably thrilled about the proceedings, Bindu says, “Yay, finally! I kept playing all these rural, homely girls and desperately wanted a movie that would portray me in a different light. Even though it’s not uber-glam or anything, I play a spunky young girl just out of college. I had a blast shooting for it. Some scenes even took me out of my comfort zone, which was even more enjoyable. The shoot just got completed, and the movie should be released shortly.”
On working with Arulnithi, she says he was a total delight. “He’s really nice and there were absolutely no ego clashes. In fact, we used to call each other ‘Boss!’ all the time on set! My only issue with him is that he’s so tall. I had to run with him for a couple of scenes — and within seconds, he’d sprint ten feet away from me and I had to puff and pant to catch up,” Bindu laughs.
The fashion-conscious actress, who’s spotted at parties and events in the city, impeccably dressed, has a busy 2014 in store, having signed films opposite Vishnu and Attakathi Dinesh.
