Take the next step, MPs told

Telugu Desam politburo member Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy dared the Congress.

Nellore: Telugu Desam politburo member Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy dared the Congress MPs and Union ministers from Seemandhra to meet the President and announce that they are withdrawing support to the UPA government if they are really serious about integration of the state.

In a sarcastic tone, he told them to put an end for their craving power while reminding that their tenure is coming to an end within three months.

Addressing media persons on the sidelines of a protest on the national highway here on Saturday, he lambasted Congress MPs Vundavalli Arunkumar and Lagadapati Rajagopal for stating all the time that bifurcation is impossible till it really happened.

He said that the two leaders have cheated the people with false propaganda. Chandramohan Reddy also pulled up the Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy for his claims over thwarting the attempts to divide the state till it actually happened.

He squarely blamed the CM for the developments in the recent past. Reacting to a question over CM’s plan to join hands with opposition parties to prevent bifurcation, he said that they have no need to align with him as they are already waging a war against the division.

He alleged that the Draft Bill pertaining to division is an indicator for dictatorial attitude of Congress high command. Chandramohan Reddy expressed surprise over a proposal, related conversion of forest land for new capital, mentioned in the Draft Bill.

“Are they planning to establish the new capital for AP in the forest? Moreover there is no clarity over the funds allocation or special packages for the new capital. We will not allow this kind of bifurcation. We are ready for any kind of sacrifice to protect the interests of Seemandhra people. Is birth of a new state means death of remaining part?” Chandramohan Reddy questioned lamenting over the situation.

Venkatagiri legislator Kurugondla Ramakrishna has demanded all the people’s representatives of Congress to quit their posts and prevent division. Former minister T. Ramesh Reddy and Nellore city convener Kotamreddy Srinivasulu Reddy also took part. Traffic came to a standstill for over one hour because of TD protest on the national highway.
