Modi fans plan grand events in Kochi
Grand arrangement by Modi fans for the BJP rally in Kochi December-January.
Thiruvananthapuram: Three public programmes have been planned in Kochi in December-January in support of BJP prime ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. While the first is a Malayalam book release on Modi on December 12, the second is a seminar on December 28 by a trust named ‘Mantra of development’ which calls for ‘India first, Modi the best.’ The third function is on January 11 to be organised by a group of IT professionals across the country under the banner of ‘I support Modi,’ which will be launched by BJP’s national spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi.
BJP’s Rajya Sabha leader Smriti Irani will release the first Malayalam book on Modi written by Murali Parappuram, editor of Janmabhumi, being published by Budha Book House.
Senior leader Dr Subramaniam Swamy, who had recently rooted for Modi as the most suitable prime minister candidate, is also expected to attend the meeting that is aimed at garnering maximum support for Modi. “This is going to be a grand function attended by CEOs, serving and retired high court judges and serving and retired government officials. Flex boards on Justice V.R. Krishna Iyer, Congress MLA A.P. Abdulla Kutty, Muslim League MLA K.M. Shaji and Lata Mangeshkar, who all have lauded Modi’s development agenda, will be put up at different centres in Kochi,” a senior BJP leader told DC.
Vikas Pandey, 32, a software engineer attached to an MNC in New Delhi, told DC that the Modi wave has caught up in Kerala too.
“Our organisation, ‘I support Modi,’ has been ‘crowd sourcing’ volunteers from social media organisations and we are overwhelmed by the response. We have plans to organise a gathering of 1000 youths in all the three cities of Kerala in February,” Pandey said.
