East Bengal defeat Rangdajied 2-1

Shillong: Host Rangdajied FC today suffered yet another setback when they went down fighting to East Bengal FC 2-1 during an I-League encounter at the J N Stadium here.
The Kolkatan side scored one each in each half to take home three points leaving a re-strengthened Rangdajied FC disappointed at home. A sloppy defense at the back allowed East Bengal to take the lead in the 41st minute when Gurwinder netted a free kick from the right flank leaving Rangdajied keeper Subrata Paul gazing.
The home side struggled to make their home fans happy and managed to pull an equaliser in the dying minute of the first half through Kim Yong. Eugene who took the ball from the right flank found Yong with a low cross while the latter then made no mistake to net with a header.
Returning after the break, East Bengal renewed their energy and style to dominate the remaining part of the match.
Shylo Malswamtulunga netted a rebound from Paul when Chidi sent a powerful right footer to score the match winner.
With this win, East Bengal are at placed at number 10 in the table with 12 points while Rangdajied FC remained in the relegation zone with eight points.

Duler: Boima Karpeh's strike in the second half guided Sporting Clube de Goa to a hard-fought 1-0 win over Dempo in an I-League match, played at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, here today.
The all-important goal came in the 49th minute when Boima Karpeh scored from a penalty, beating Dempo's keeper Kattimanai after Narayan Das handled the ball inside the box. The win takes Sporting Clube de Goa to third place with 21 points from 12 matches while Dempo remained on 12 points from 12 matches.
Both the teams started cautiously, but picked up tempo as the match wore on as they made attacking moves and Sporting Clube de Goa found the net midway into the first half when Gonzalo directed his header into the net off Garcio free-kick, but was ruled off side.
With neither team able to break the dead lock in the first half, it was Sporting Clube de Goa, who had better chances, took the lead in the 49th minute after they earned a penalty when Narayan Das handled the ball inside the box.
Boima Karpeh, who took the penalty, made no mistake when he beat keeper Kattimani to find the net. Karpeh again had a chance to score brace in the 66th minute, but was late in connecting Pratesh Shirodkar cross.
Dempo fought well in the second half, tried their best in search of the equaliser, but could meet success as Roberto Silva's two attempts were saved by rival keeper Ravi Kumar.
