Seemandhra vents its anger over Telangana
Hyderabad: Normal life was affected in coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema on Friday following the bandh call given by the YSR Congress, Telugu Desam and the APNGOs against the bifurcation of the state. However, the bandh did not have its anticipated impact and it almost appeared that the people had reconciled with the bifurcation of the state.
Police heaved a sigh of relief as the day went off peacefully except for sporadic violence like the burning of the BSNL office in Uravakonda in Anantapur district. Around 95 companies of Central forces were deployed in various districts.

Hyderabad: Shops, petrol bunks, business establishments and educational institutions were shut; the shutdown was total in some cities and towns. Government employees in large numbers boycotted their work and took to the streets in Visakhapatnam.
Andhra University students staged a rasta roko at the main gate which disrupted traffic. They also burnt the effigy the ‘Union Cabinet.’
A large number of YSRC activists blocked the national highway at Isukathota junction. In Vizag, lawyers locked the district court gates protesting against the Telangana Bill. State government establishments closed down operations bringing the government machinery to an absolute standstill, owing to the bandh call given by the APNGOS.
In Visakhapatnam, RTC buses plied in the city but they went off in the afternoon after agitators stopped them at many places. Transport services were paralysed across the two regions in 13 districts where around 12,000 buses went off the road.
In Tirupati apart from the 100-odd Tirumala depot buses, 1,350 buses remained off roadsputting pilgrims through hardship.
