Chhattisgarh too going BJP way
Raipur: In a sudden surge, the BJP took a lead in Chhattisgarh in as many as 40 seats in the 90 member Assembly. The Congress is close behind leading in 34 seats.
Earlier, the BJP’s hope of making it 4-0 in the Assembly elections had received a dent in the tribal pockets of Chhattisgarh where the Congress was making a comeback according to early leads.
The marketing of Chief Minister Raman Singh as an able administrator seems to be clicking in certain pockets. One factor that is going in favour of the Congress in the tribal heartland is a sympathy wave following the death of senior Congress leaders in Maoist attack a few months back.
Ajit Jogi, who stepped in to head the Congress campaign, hammered the point of poor law and order situation and this has worked in favour of the party in the tribal space.
