Zoe dyed hair with rum

Actress Zoe Saldana has revealed that her mother used to dye her hair with rum. The 35-year-old Avatar actress said her mother was “a convenient Bohemian” and liked to use natural products and alternatives to chemicals, and that included boozy hairstyling methods, reported Contactmusic.
But the odd technique worked and helps set the movie beauty apart from her friends growing up in the Dominican Republic. “I would soak my ends with rum and then I would go and play volleyball in the sun. Rum would bleach it, and would go really auburny and sometimes really light. And I remember one time my neighbour came by. And she called up my mom and said, ‘Listen to me, I went to check up on the girls and Zoe smelled like alcohol’,” Saldana said.
