Group rues botched move against Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan
Thiruvananthapuram: Leaders of Congress ‘I’ group feel that Kannur MP K. Sudhakaran has spoilt a chance to put Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan on the mat by reducing his tirade to the personal level.
Though KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala batted for Sudhakaran saying the latter’s outburst reflected the sentiments of majority of Congress leaders in Kannur district, the group leaders are unimpressed.
Sudhakaran had lashed out at Thiruvanchoor saying the minister’s post was not anybody’s family possession and that a minister who was of no use to the people should step down.
He said that Thiruvanchoor often responded sarcastically whenever mistakes of the Home Department were pointed out.
Sudhakaran also said that if he did not improve his performance, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy should shunt him out.
Though ‘I’ group leaders are against Thiruvanchoor’s policy decisions, they are not happy about Sudhakaran’s outbursts.
But a prominent ‘I’ group leader and KPCC general secretary told DC that Sudhakaran should have raked up the group rivalry.
However, ‘I’ group leaders are sore with Thiruvanchoor especially over acquitting 20 of the accused in the T. P. C murder case as well as allowing K. K. Lathika MLA to see her jailed husband P. Mohanan at a restaurant.
