‘Whisteblower’ officer charged
Chandigarh: The Haryana government has chargesheeted IAS officer Ashok Khemka in a case of cancellation of the mutation of a land deal between Robert Vadra, son-in-law of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, and real estate major DLF Gurgaon in October.
The chargesheet was delivered to Khemka in his absence at his residence on Wednesday. He has been given a fortnight to reply.
According to sources, the seven-page chargesheet is related to the issue of alleged administrative misconduct and damage caused to the reputation of Mr Vadra and DLF.
The chargesheet also questions Khemka going to the media after cancellation of the mutation, criticising the state government’s policy and not immediately giving up charge of his post despite having been transferred.
The 1991-batch IAS officer had cancelled the mutation on October 15, 2012, which the state government has alleged was an administratively improper step since he stood transferred as managing director of HSDC.
He has also been accused of singling out a particular mutation.
Earlier in October, the Haryana government had decided to chargesheet Khemka.
