Prisoners flee from AP Express

10 unidentified criminals opened fire at Andhra Pradesh Express near Agra.
Hyderabad: About 10 unidentified criminals opened fire at policemen travelling in the Andhra Pradesh Express on Thursday near Agra in Uttar Pradesh, injuring four police constables. Police, however, said that there were no casualties and no passengers were injured in the incident.
The police contingent was raking two undertrials to Agra, after producing them in a Ghaziabad court. The two undertrials, along with the ten attackers, escaped after the ambush.
Local railway police officials said that the incident took place at 7.50 pm near the Farah railway station between Mathura and Agra.
They added that someone had pulled the chain, which helped the criminals carrying arms board the S-6 coach, in which the policemen were travelling with the undertrials.
“It seems to have been a pre-planned attack,” a railway police official of the Agra section said.
Local railway authorities also informed that the train reached Agra railway station at 8.48 pm and then left at 9.49 pm. Police suspect that the place of attack was planned in advance.
