NASSCOM to set up 10 incubators in selected colleges
Thiruvananthapuram: As part of its efforts to promote entrepreneurs, the NASSCOM will set up incubators in ten selected colleges across the state.
NASSCOM regional council chairman V.K. Mathews said that the process of identifying the colleges was going on.
Talking to the media in the backdrop of TieCon annual conference to be held in Kochi on December 13 and 14, Mathews said that the attitude towards entrepreneurship in Kerala has changed considerably.
“At present, parents won't discourage their children from venturing into entrepreneurship. Also, the success rate of incubators in the state is quite high,” he said.
TieCon 2013, being organised by The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), would be an opportunity for youngsters to exhibit their ideas.
Those coming up with viable plans can get one-to-one mentoring from seasoned entrepreneurs. “In this era of digital business, the future generation has a bigger canvas to play,” said Mathews, a charter member of TiE Kerala Chapter who will be moderating the IT track of the conference.
About 2,000 delegates are expected to attend TieCon to be held at Hotel Le Meridien. The theme of the event is ‘Prosperity through entrepreneurship.’
A 150-minute IT track will be attended by industry leaders, including Dell India president Ganesh Lakshminarayan, IBM India head Suhas Bhide, NASSCOM product council chairman Ravi Gururaj and Gartner India head Partha Iyengar.
Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will inaugurate TieCon on December 13. It would be the biggest gathering of entrepreneurs in Kerala, said Mathews, chairman of IBS Group.
