It was during the release of 'Talaash' that Aamir Khan decided that he wouldn’t be engaging in a promotional overdrive for his film. Now it seems that he will continue to abide by the principle with his upcoming 'Dhoom 3'. Well-placed sources at Yash Raj Films tell us that Aamir has decided to do only “selective promotions” for the high-octane action film. What that means in practical terms is that you won’t be seeing Aamir doing the rounds of sundry TV talent and reality shows. Mr Perfectionist, in fact, hasn’t even made an exception for his good friend Salman Khan’s show 'Bigg Boss'.
“The production house did think about promoting 'Dhoom 3' on 'Bigg Boss', but so far there has been no confirmation from Aamir. From what we know so far, he has only agreed to promote the film on certain news channels,” our source claimed.
Clearly, the aggressive promotional campaigns favoured by the likes of Shah Rukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor are not what Aamir believes in. Like the 'Lagaan' actor once said, he prefers to let his films speak for him. He wants the audience to decide the box office fate of the film.
