Bangalore: Karnataka lads crashed to an innings and 72-run defeat at the hands of Punjab in the U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium on Wednesday.
Having handed the visitors a huge 400-run lead, the Karnataka lads resuming at 167/4 delayed the inevitable with Abhinav Manohar (94, 197b, 15x4, 3x6) and Pradeep T (65, 140b, 8x4, 2x6) waging a valiant battle.
But with plenty of time at hand, Punjab bowled out the hosts for 328 with medium pacer Siddarth Sharma (3-87) and left-arm spinner Karan Kaila (3-73) sharing the spoils.
