Two escaped prisoners held, hunt on for others
Hyderabad: The police has managed to catch two more absconding undertrial prisoners, who fled from Erragadda Mental Hospital, while two people are still at large.
The police caught Basith near his house at Santhosh naga. D. Jeeva Ratnam, 25, was caught at his native place by the Sathupally police in Khammam on Wednesday.
Two undertrial prisoners, Fahauddin Qureshi and Tirumalesh are still absconding without giving any clue to the police.
“We are searching for the two now. The entire police force has been alerted. Basith and Jeevaratnam, are in our custody now,” said West Zone DCP Satyanarayana.
Qureshi, who is accused in a drug case charged by the Abid police, had fled with his second wife in a Tavera car carrying the registration number AP 09 BC 7909.
“He procured the car from his girlfriend’s uncle. Though they are denying it, we are trying to trace the car,” said Panjagutta ACP Venkat Narsaiah.
The cops suspect Qureshi’s wife is using a mobile phone. The cyber crime police is trying to track down the mobile phone.
Though Qureshi fled with the vehicle towards Mumbai highway, police believe that he is still inside the state. The cops believe that he canbe caught if he tries to cross the border check posts of the state.
Higher officials said that special teams are on the job, and a massive manhunt is on.
