Hyderabad: The police has beefed up security in the old city in view of the Babri Masjid demolition anniversary.
Prohibitory orders also have been issued by the police for three days, beginning December 5. Hyderabad police commissioner Anurag Sharma said the police had reliable information that some groups would try to create disturbances in the city to incite enmity between different communities on Friday.
“Under Section 144 of the CrPC demonstrations, processions, rallies and public meetings which are likely to create religious animosity are prohibited for three days,” Anurag Sharma said.
As December 6 falls is a Friday, the cops are more careful. Expecting untoward incidents after Friday prayers near the Macca Masjid the police has deployed a large force.
“Six additional DCPs, 13 DSPs, 70 inspectors, 100 SIs, and 50 ASIs, will be deployed. 20 platoons of the APSP and 800 constables including 50 women would be on the streets,” a senior official said.
