Direct benefit transfer to LPG consumers reviewed

Mutyala Raju reviews the DBT to LPG consumers in view of complaints over non-receipt of subsidy.

Rajahmundry: East Godavari joint collector and collector for civil supplies R. Mutyala Raju reviewed the direct benefit transfer (DBT) to LPG consumers in East Godavari in view of complaints over non-receipt of subsidy part by several consumers in to their bank accounts.

Speaking at the meet organised at district collectorate on Wednesday, the JC brought to the notice of both oil company representatives and LPG dealers about the error in the credit of subsidy amounts to bank accounts other than the actual beneficiary.

“We have been receiving complaints of this nature in the weekly grievances cell, Dial Your JC and at the DSO office in the collectorate,” the JC said. This error is occurring despite the Aadhaar-LPG-bank account seeding, he pointed out.

He asked both the LPG dealers and the oil company representatives to crosscheck the linkage in order to credit the subsidy to the correct beneficiary.

The JC asked the revenue staff to check the details of LPG consumers at mandal and village level through the network of village revenue officers on the issue of Aadhaar enrollment, utilisation of LPG connection other than the beneficiary and other relative information.

Mutyala Raju also asked the revenue staff to verify the utilisation of LPG connections issued under Deepam scheme.

He asked the mandal supply officers to maintain regular liaison with LPG dealers in order to streamline the credit of subsidy part to consumer's accounts.

DSO Vemuri Ravi Kiran, DM civil supplies T.V.S.G. Kumar and representatives of oil companies and LPG dealers attended.
