Teachers shortage to hit SSC students in EG
Rajahmundry: With hardly three months left for the SSC examinations, completion of syllabus and preparedness for the final examinations is a cause of concern to both parents and teachers unions as far as high schools under government and allied managements are concerned in East Godavari.
According to sources, not conducting of DSC-2013, has left a wide gap in the teaching faculty to the tune of 2,000 for the needs of schools from Class I to X in the district.
In addition to this, the Samaikyandhra agitation for more than two months by teaching fraternity said to have its own impact on the completion of syllabus within the stipulated time. Several parents and students consider the performance in SSC a key factor in continuation of higher studies in the form of percentage of marks obtained.
As far as East Godavari is concerned, there are 750 high schools under government, zilla parishad, municipal, and allied managements.
In total, 55,000 students from schools under all managements will be appearing for the SSC exams to be conducted in March 2014 with half the number from schools under government and allied managements and the rest from the private schools.
